Rollover Impact Test Machine is built. After research shows
that more than 50 percent of all heavy truck fatalities
involved a rollover, IMMI builds the world's first rollover
test machine to evaluate commercial vehicle rollovers in
a controlled and repeatable environment.
The machine is able to simulate the occupant's position
relative to the tire contact point. Its adjustable mounting
allows for various cab orientations.

CAPE is the only facility in the world built specifically
for crash testing commercial vehicles. It incorporates barrier,
sled, static pull and rollover crash tests with digital
imaging, data acquisition, applied mechanics, and motion
analysis to paint a whole picture of a product for a customer.
